Property Details

The property is located in one of the top locations, the historic centre of Berlin. Hausvogteiplatz and Gendarmenmarkt are just a few minutes away. The office space in this area is among the most sought-after in Berlin. Numerous companies and a large number of embassies are based here.

The five-storey residential and commercial building was erected on the Friedrichwerder site, where the headquarters of the German Reichsbank stood until the Second World War. In 2004, the Senate Department for Urban Development invited tenders in an architecture and bidding process for the plot, which the architects Wiegand/Hoffmann won with their design.

The design of the property draws on the early modernism of the 1920s. A sandstone-coloured façade cladding of light Portuguese limestone was used, echoing the similarly coloured natural-stone materials of the historic neighbouring buildings. The balcony railings and the windows were chosen in a bronze tone, which forms a contrast with clear accents against the natural stone used.

This design language continues inside the building. The interior was made throughout from high-quality materials.
