The five-storey building, constructed in 1960, is a residential and commercial building located in the centre of Frankfurt, in the immediate vicinity of the Zeil pedestrian zone. With almost 15,000 pedestrians per hour, the Zeil is regarded as the busiest shopping street in Germany (as at 2017, source: JLL). Demand for retail space is booming and has remained at a consistently high level. As a result of the modernisation, refurbishment and development measures currently taking place on Stiftstraße and its surroundings, the quarter around the Zeil stands to benefit from an upgrade. In addition, various residential construction projects are being built in the immediate neighbourhood, such as the “die drei Schwestern” residential high-rise completed in 2020, which is intended to provide up to 500 new residential units and will thus further enhance the quality of the location.
